Dr Pamela Chia is a consultant anaesthetist in the Women’s Anaesthesia department of KKH with more than 6 years of simulation and debriefing experience. As a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator(CHSE) and faculty at the SIMS Simulation Educators Training (SIMS SET) workshop, Dr Chia aspires to transform medical education simulation training through interprofessional education, collaborative practice and innovation. In 2021, her team won the AMEI Golden Apple Awards- Programme Excellence Award for their simulation project on Malignant Hyperthermia Preparedness through Interprofessional Education (MH-PIE).

At the Singhealth Duke-NUS Education Conference 2024, Dr Chia served as Chairperson and led a team of simulation educators in delivering an introductory debriefing workshop for about 30 healthcare professionals. Her ongoing AMEI education grant- Escape room for inter-professional complex obstetric care, to date has a total of 44 participants from nursing, surgery and anaesthesia from 5 escape room sessions. Positive feedback has been received from participants for both her 2024 debriefing workshop and current Escape room project.  

Past education grants are:  Promoting Excellence, Reflective Learning in Simulation (PEARLS) debriefing method and Advanced airway programme development for anaesthesia nurses(AMEI Golden Apple Awards 2023 shortlisted nomination).
