Prof. (Dr.) Debendra Kumar Tripathy is Professor and Head of Trauma & Emergency at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, and Centre Head of SRIJAN: Biomedical Innovation and Incubation Centre. He has previously served as Professor of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care and Vice Dean (Innovation & Incubator) at AIIMS Rishikesh, where he also led several key institutional initiatives, including Tele-ICU services and the Critical Care Working Group for COVID-19. Dr. Tripathy holds an MBBS and DNB (Anaesthesiology) qualifications. He has mentored MD and DM residents across various institutions in India. A passionate innovator, he is a co-inventor of multiple biomedical devices, including the patented VT Scope (video intubating stylet), and low-cost ventilator systems, with several other patents published. He has spearheaded over 35 research projects (22 completed, 15 ongoing) and collaborates with leading institutions, including IIT Roorkee, IIT Bhilai, DRDO, Swansea University, and King’s College London. His research spans emergency care innovations, perioperative outcomes, and critical care technology. Dr. Tripathy has numerous peer-reviewed publications, serves as associate editor and contributor to The Airway Manual (Springer Nature), and has been recognized with awards for distinguished research contributions. His vision centers on integrating artificial intelligence and digital health to transform emergency and critical care delivery in India.
