Dr. Ismail Mohd Saiboon is an Emergency Medicine professor and a senior consultant Emergency Physician at HCTM, UKM. He is the first Malaysian to earn the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential from SSH USA and to be inducted as a Fellow of the Academy Society for Simulation in Healthcare (FSSH). He founded the Malaysian College of Emergency Physicians (2011) and the Malaysian Society for Simulation in Healthcare (MaSSH, 2016). He developed key academic programs including Dr in Emergency Medicine UKM, BSc. Emergency Medicine, Fellowship in Clinical Simulation, and the Professional Certificate in Healthcare Simulation (ProCHeS). His initiatives such as Sim@UKM and Healthcare Simulation Literacy (HSL) have transformed simulation-based learning in UKM and Malaysia.Dr. Ismail’s research focuses on CPR, pre-hospital care, healthcare simulation, and technology innovation. He has published over 90 journal articles, authored five books, contributed to clinical guidelines, and holds multiple IPs including patents and copyrights. He has received numerous innovation awards including ITEX, MTE, AKRI, kNovasi, and MyRA. Administratively, he serves as Deputy Director of Pengajaran-UKM, UKM Senate member, AHA Regional Faculty (Asia Pacific), and Chairman of MaSSH. Internationally, he contributes to PASSH and SSH’s ethics taskforce. In his leisure, he enjoys innovating, cycling, swimming, and traveling.
