Dr Ben Symon is a Paediatric Emergency Physician and Simulationist based in Brisbane, Australia. He is the Clinical Director of Simulation at Mater Education, where he leads initiatives to enhance workplace training and optimize clinical systems utilising simulation methodologies.
In addition to his role at Mater Education, he serves as a Simulation Consultant at Queensland Children’s Hospital, contributing to the STORK simulation outreach program, which delivers paediatric resuscitation training to hospitals across regional and remote Queensland.
Ben’s professional interests focus on translating academic expertise into practical strategies for clinical educators, particularly those working at the frontline of patient care. He is co-producer of the healthcare simulation podcast ‘Simulcast’, and is actively involved in The Debriefing Academy, an initiative dedicated to advancing debriefing skills in healthcare education. Ben has long been an admirer of Singaporean culture and food, and there are few things that make him happier than a good coffee paired with a warm piece of kaya toast.
