Date: 05 Nov 2025, Wed | Time: 12.30pm to 1.15pm | Track Type: Keynote
Format: Face-to-face | Venue: The NAK Auditorium, Academia
Speaker: Dr Benjamin Brian Symon
While we know much about simulation for learning and simulation for quality improvement, less has been discussed about how the synergy between these two processes can truly future proof practice. In his opening keynote, Dr Ben Symon will explore his experience working for one of Australia's largest simulation outreach services, and what he and his team learned when they embedded an institutional reporting process into their educational courses. By working together with regional educators, nurses, pharmacists and paediatricians, his team has been able to measure and demonstrate meaningful system improvements in over 50 hospitals distributed over an area larger than 4 Japans. He aims to push us to think harder about how we pursue measurement, what we think is important in sim, and how we as a simulationists can move our community forward
