A/Prof Bee Yong Mong is the Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Endocrinology, SGH and Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He is also the Director of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (DSAIL) at SGH. A/Prof Bee has been involved in research, education and clinical treatment related to diabetes mellitus for over 20 years. He leads research programmes aimed at risk prediction for diabetic complications and leveraging artificial intelligence in diabetes care. He was instrumental in establishing the SingHealth Diabetes Registry (SDR), a comprehensive multi-institutional database derived from the SingHealth Electronic Medical Record system. In addition to his roles at SGH and SingHealth, A/Prof Bee is the President of Diabetes Singapore, the sole registered charitable organisation in Singapore devoted exclusively to the fight against diabetes.
