Dr Chew Wui Mei

Dr Chew Wui Mei is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with a special interest in pleural disease and quality improvement. She completed her specialist training in Respiratory Medicine in Singapore and undertook a prestigious Pleural Fellowship at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom, where she gained advanced expertise in pleural diagnostics and interventions, including thoracoscopy, ultrasound-guided pleural biopsy and indwelling pleural catheter management. Dr. Chew has published in peer-reviewed journals on topics including pleural disease and lung cancer, and continues to be actively involved in clinical research. She has a particular interest in quality improvement (QI) and has led several projects aimed at enhancing patient safety, optimizing respiratory service delivery, and improving multidisciplinary care pathways. She regularly contributes to postgraduate education and clinical training programs in her role as Core Faculty for the Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency Programme. She is leading efforts to standardize a curriculum for ultrasound training in senior residency. She is currently based at CGH, where she continues to innovate and collaborate with allied health to improve outcomes for chronic respiratory disease patients.
