Dr Meghan Lim is a Paediatric Surgery Clinician-Scientist Resident with an interest in global surgery. She recently completed her Paul Farmer Global Surgery Research Fellowship under the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) at Harvard Medical School in 2023. She has previously worked with the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO) and WHO Headquarters as a research fellow working on surgical education and simulation materials for low resource settings. She has also collaborated with Procurelink, the Royal Australasian Collect of Surgeons (RACS) and WPRO to develop a checklist of essential surgical supplies for Level 1 district hospitals and worked with governments in the Pacific Island Countries to build surgical capacity by assisting with development of National Surgical, Obstetric and Anaesthesia Plans (NSOAPs) in the region. She has published her work on global health, surgical access, surgical systems strengthening in multiple peer-reviewed journals and is also active in terms of clinical research in paediatric surgery, disease-based biomarkers, spatial transcriptomics, 3D modelling and bioprinting, tissue engineering and biomaterials.
