A/Prof Fong is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH). In 2014, A/Prof Fong was awarded the SingHealth Manpower Development Plan Fellowship to further training in advanced therapeutics in the management of patients with inflammatory arthritis, as well as incorporating translational research through the conduct of early-phase clinical trials at the Department of Rheumatology of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and the NIHR Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility. A/Prof Fong is actively involved in clinical research and is principal investigator for randomised controlled trials looking at the efficacy of advanced therapeutics, complementary medicine and acupuncture in the treatment of axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. He is also a member of the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis international Society (ASAS), and is currently actively promoting and integrating the use of Patient Reported Outcomes Measures in the management of patients with axial spondyloarthritis.
