Innovating Clinical Ethics in SingHealth—A Model for Singapore’s Healthcare System
Date: 20 Sep 2025, Saturday | Time: 1355 - 1525 | Track Type: Symposium | Venue: PSL2, Level 2, Academia
As Singapore's healthcare landscape evolves, healthcare professionals face increasingly complex care challenges that require more thoughtful ethics deliberation and engagement with patients and families, and more robust ethics training and support.
SingHealth-Duke NUS Medical Humanities and the Office of Ethics in Healthcare are leading transformative initiatives in clinical ethics practices. These include developing expertise in clinical ethical conflict management, developing professional pathways for clinical ethics services, and creating new educational platforms and networks.
Our initiatives address gaps in Singapore's healthcare ecosystem while building approaches that resonate with our multicultural context and develop sustainable local expertise. We present and demonstrate how these innovations enhance ethical decision-making and support and strengthen healthcare delivery in Singapore.
