Resident Researchers - The Next Generation of Academic Clinicians in Our AMC

The symposium will be divided into 2 parts. The first will be talks on research in residency. There will be a talk by a senior clinician scientist who is involved in researcher development to share his personal journey and the systems in place to support and nurture resident researchers. It will also feature an emerging clinician researcher who was involved in research during residency training to discuss how it is possible to juggle research and clinical training, the hurdles and joys. There will opportunity for discussion after each talk.
The second part will be oral abstract presentations by resident researchers who will share their scientific abstracts followed by a question-and-answer session to discuss the abstract. A total of 5 abstract presentations will be shortlisted from the congress submission that are not shortlisted for Congress Oral paper / selected for Young Scientist.
We will raise awareness of the symposium among the resident community, encouraging residents and residency programme faculty to attend. We will also invite leaders in research development and leadership in the AMC as this will feature the next generation of clinician researchers Singhealth and Duke-NUS.
The organization of this programme will be supported by the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office.
