The A.L.I.C.E Makerspace is an open-access resource for all SingHealth staff. Located within SGH campus, a highly regulated healthcare environment, it serves as a safe space for SingHealth staff to experiment, fail fast and iterate their ideas quickly on the front lines.
Rapid prototyping can be done on-the-house here, without need for staff or project teams to individually procure equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, or even regular mechanical and electrical tools. Equipment is a community resource here and can simply be booked and used by any SingHealth staff when required.
What can we offer
The centre hopes to be an innovation powerhouse nurturing SingHealth's finest ideas. As a vibrant greenhouse for SingHealth innovation projects, our space encourages seamless collaboration among staff to explore, design, prototype, and test ideas in a secure environment.
Our project management team standby to guide and support AMC innvoators and academic partners in joint grant applications. We will help our innovators and partners to identify suitable grants matching the development of the projects, develop grant proposals and submission of grant paperworks.
AMC and academic innovators may seek specific support from A.L.I.C.E to project manage and resource match collaboration projects such as linking crirical technology owners, professional service, regulatory conslutation, etc.
Engineering support is available in-house in A.L.I.C.E @ SGH Campus as well. Clinicians who have explored their initial ideas with A.L.I.C.E @ SGH Campus may also be linked up to our extensive commercial partners network to pursue deeper development of their projects.
Engineers in our centre will assists AMC innovators to coneptualize novel healtcare solutions. To enhance the success rate of fabriation, our engineers will assists innovators to create digital 3D model to facitliate design review and iterations. Furthermore, innovators can taps into the rapid prototyping and testing resources in our Centre Makerspace to create mock-up prototypes and generates needed pre-data for grant application.
AMC innovators, upon accquired required certification, are weclome to loan out Centre's prototyping tools to advance the technical readliness of the technolgy under development. We are equipped with specialised medical device testers capable of verifying device performance against industry gold standards. Medical device prototype performance can now be quickly and confidently verified; and improved much faster at the Makerspace. ALL equipments can be booked and scheduled access by AMC staffs via Facilities Reservation System (FRS).
