GlaxoSmithKline

SingHealth and Duke-NUS is collaborating with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to improve patient care and clinical outcomes for respiratory medicine through data linkages and data science.

Asthma and COPD are becoming a worldwide "allergic epidemic" causing avoidable deaths and hospital admissions.

In 2012, Singapore rolled out the National Electronic Health Records (NEHR), and this data resource will enable earlier detection of disease and timely medication management. These, among other innovations, will make substantial improvements to the management and outcomes of the Asthma and COPD patients.

The long-term goals are to create tools that will optimise patient care across primary and tertiary care within SingHealth.
