Global Health Fellows Programme


Application for support to read Master of Public Health (Global Health) at NUS for AY24/25 is now open!


The SDGHI Global Health Fellows Programme seeks to support and encourage the growth of Global Health practitioners within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC). 

Gain the opportunity to pursue a sponsored 24-month part-time Master of Public Health programme (specialising in Global Health) at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore.


Who Can Apply?

  • SingHealth clinicians who are Associate Consultants and above.

  • Singaporeans and PRs only.


Support Given

  • Tuition and miscellaneous fees* for the enrollment of MPH (Global Health) 24-month part-time programme at Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, NUS. Applicants will need to bear the application fees payable to SSHSPH.

  • Paid leave^ for up to 3 months over 2 academic years.

  • Eligibility to apply for top-up research grant# for field research (locally or overseas) as part of the course requirement for the attainment of MPH (Global Health). 

* Capped at the prevailing fees at SSHSPH for Singaporeans and PRs only. 

^ Successful applicants will be required to serve an appropriate period of bond with their primary institution of employment.

# Capped at SGD 15,000 and subject to approval via a separate grant application to SDGHI. 


Requirements

  • In addition to taking all the Core modules of the MPH Course, the Fellows must select and take all the Global Health Specialisation Core modules and other relevant elective modules.

  • Participation in a monthly global health seminar for Fellows and preparation of one or more global health manuscripts for publication.

  • Continue to contribute to the field of global health through related areas of work as a faculty member of SDGHI after the fellowship, for the agreed-upon appointment tenure duration.

Application Process

Submit application for the Global Health Fellows Programme through respective ACPs, with strong recommendation from the ACP Chair, and endorsements from the Head of Department, Division Chair & CMB of the respective sponsoring institution.

Applicant should separately apply for admission to the MPH (GH) programme in SSHSPH, according to the standard process. Application to the MPH (GH) at SSHSPH is via link: https://sph.nus.edu.sg/education/mph/

Documents to submit

  • Updated curriculum vitae

  • A duplicate of all documents that have been submitted to SSHSPH for the MPH (GH) Course Application, including personal statement

  • Completed and signed application form, with the necessary endorsements

Application deadline for Global Health Fellows Programme with duly completed forms and endorsements is on 10 January 2024. All documents must be emailed to sdghi@duke-nus.edu.sg by 10 January 2024.
