Welcoming a New Academic Chair for SingHealth Duke-NUS Cardiovascular Sciences Academic Clinical Programme

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Clinical Associate Professor Yeo Khung Keong as the newly appointed Academic Chair, SingHealth Duke-NUS Cardiovascular Sciences Academic Clinical Programme (CVS ACP) and Chief Executive Officer, National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), effective from 1 June 2023.

Clinical Associate Professor Yeo is a cardiologist and an internationally renowned opinion leader in the field of transcatheter repair of the mitral and tricuspid valve, and in the area of complex coronary intervention for calcific lesions. Beyond his expertise in clinical care, he has made significant contributions to CVS ACP and NHCS’ research and academic endeavours. He has spearheaded wide-ranging collaborations with key partners to advance research and education for cardiovascular diseases. In his new leadership roles, Clinical Associate Professor Yeo will build on the strong foundations laid by Prof Terrance Chua, and lead CVS ACP and NHCS in continuing to pursue clinical and academic excellence.

Clinical Professor Terrance Chua is recognised as a widely respected and dependable leader who has fostered strategic collaborations with stakeholders to advance research and academic endeavours. In Clinical Professor Chua’s nine years of leadership as Academic Chair, CVS ACP, he has played a pivotal role in pushing the frontiers of Academic Medicine (AM) to achieve peaks of excellence in clinical care, research, education and innovation in the ACP.

He will continue to contribute to AM as Senior Associate Dean, Office of Academic Medicine, Duke-NUS which is concurrent to his appointment as Group Chairman Medical Board, SingHealth.
