EmPaTHy study

EmPaTHy’ is a research programme under the SingHealth Duke-NUS Family Medicine Academic Clinical Programme, jointly funded by SingHealth Polyclinics, SingHealth AM General Fund and Duke-NUS Medical School.

EmPaTHy stands for ‘Empowering People to Transform Healthcare through technology’ and it aims to enhance people-centred primary care by leveraging on digital technology and innovations.

The Programme has the following goals:

  • Research: Conduct a flagship research project on hypertension by using technology to support patients and healthcare providers in decision making and treatment
  • Training: Equip researchers and clinicians with the knowledge and skills in conducting quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research to solve real-world primary care problems
  • Collaboration: Establish inter-professional, inter-disciplinary and inter-sectorial research collaborations within and beyond Singapore to enhance research in people-centred care.

We welcome collaborations from all family medicine fraternity, health disciplines, academic institutions and industry partners, within and outside Singapore. We also welcome researchers, academic fellows and students who have an interest in family medicine, hypertension and digital health to join us.
