Assoc Prof Michael Tan is a creative health researcher and a leading advocate for arts and health development in Singapore. His notable contributions include a seminal paper on the State of Arts and Health Development Singapore and numerous cross-sectoral collaboration with the Agency for Integrated Care, NAC, Duke-NUS Medical School. His interest includes arts in medicine, and other art based approaches in medical humanities, patient advocacy, mental health literacy, and end of life issues. He has collaborated with colleague at SingHealth Duke-NUS, exploring art and visually thinking strategy workshops for clinicians in dermatology.  He is working with a team of eminent international colleagues in arts and health on the WHO Lancet Global Series, exploring arts participation as a health behaviour.  He is currently the Dean of Research and Knowledge Exchange at NAFA-UAS.
