I am a Palliative Medicine specialist.
I always believed in holistic care and hence I started off my training in family medicine inspired by my mother who had a good GP set up back in India.
However, one of my mentors in National Cancer Centre suggested Palliative medicine and here, I am, more than a decade later, heading the Women’s Palliative Care Service in KK Hospital.
I have learnt along the way, from personal and patient experiences for which I am grateful.
My aim is always to be better today than I was yesterday and exploring new ways of improvement for myself and my patients. Poetic medicine was one such avenue introduced to me by a dear friend, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
I hope to share this joy with my peers, of expressing themselves in a safe space, being fully heard in a non- judgemental way and reflecting together and forming deeper connections.
