Dr Gillian Hendriks moved from Singapore to the UK in 2002 to study medicine at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2008. She remained in Liverpool for ten years to complete her paediatric specialty training before returning to Singapore in 2020. She now lives in Singapore with her husband and four children.Dr Hendriks works at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she continues to grow her expertise in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Emergency Medicine. She has a special interest in Youth and Adolescent Wellbeing, recognising the unique developmental and psychosocial needs of this age group.She is also passionate about promoting Staff Wellness and Joy at Work as well as enhancing the Patient Experience. With a strong belief in the role of medical humanities in humanising healthcare, she incorporates storytelling, reflection, and the arts to foster empathy, connection, and wellbeing among staff and patients alike.Through her holistic and compassionate approach, Dr Hendriks strives to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, adolescents, and their families in Singapore.
