Dr Serene Ong is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Biomedical Ethics, National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on the ethical dimensions of genetic and genomic technologies, as well as emerging innovations such as artificial intelligence and precision medicine. She is currently part of the CREPSING (Collective Reflective Equilibrium in Practice in SINGapore) project, which develops evidence-based approaches for co-designing policies that support the ethical and socially responsible implementation of new technologies in Singapore. She also contributes to Project RESET (Redirecting Immune, Lipid and Metabolic Drivers of Early Cardiovascular Disease), which aims to advance understanding of population-level risk factors for heart disease. Serene also serves on the Steering Committee of the Southeast Asian Bioethics Network, supporting regional collaboration and capacity building in bioethics.
