About

Eta Lauw is a Registered Music Therapist with a Masters of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne.

As a clinician who strongly believes in culturally-centred practice, Eta believes in authenticity and the use of emotional and musical connections to foster personal development and social bonds. Eta is particularly interested in the use of music psychotherapy for deepening explorations of intra- and inter-personal relationships.  Eta’s areas of focus in music therapy work include working with children with special needs, older adults with dementia in both acute and community care, and trauma-informed music therapy practices.

Eta has experienced for herself how music enhances holistic care in a patient and supports medical professionals to see beyond the diagnoses in patients.Eta is currently Lecturer-in-Charge of the inaugural music therapy training programme in Singapore at LASALLE College of the Arts. She is particularly interested in training future generations of music therapists in Singapore to be able to work in multidisciplinary teams so that other team mates would be to see the different sides to clients and patients when they engage in music.
