AM•EI Golden Apple Awards
AN ACCOLADE FOR EDUCATORS – The AM•EI Golden Apple Awards recognise faculty and staff with an active teaching role in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre. Honour the best in healthcare education who have transformed teaching by engaging and inspiring learners.
At SingHealth and Duke-NUS, educators play an important role for continuous learning and improvement in the pursuit of Academic Medicine. AM•EI believes that excellence in teaching by incorporating innovation will enhance engagement and imbue the spirit of inquiry in learners, thereby contributing to better healthcare education. Hence, the series of award categories aims to recognise and encourage educators for their passion and dedication to demonstrate excellence in teaching.
KKH Teacher's Day Award 2021 and NUS Medicine Appreciation for Clinical Educators 2021
The KKH Teacher’s Day Award was held on 13 October 2021, where Dr Manisha Mathur, Dr Sheri Lim and Dr Sonali Chonkar were awarded the AY20/21 Teacher’s Day Award for their spirited dedication to educating undergraduates. The NUS Medicine Appreciation for Clinical Educators (NUSMedACE) was also held on 9 November 2021. NUSMedACE recognizes the outstanding contributions of healthcare clinicians to the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and their passion for educating the future generations. A/Prof Tan Lay Kok and Dr Seet Meei Jiun were awarded the AY20/21 Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award, and Dr Lee Shi Hui received the AY20/21 Junior Doctor Teaching Award.
NUS YLL Dean’s Appreciation Awards 2018
The YLL Dean’s Appreciation Awards for Clinical Teachers was held on 14 Nov 2018, 5.30pm, at the KKH Staff Lounge. At the award ceremony, Dr Manisha Mathur, Dr Sonali Chonkar and Dr Pramanick Angsumita were presented the AY17/18 Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence, which recognizes passionate faculty who espouse the school’s values and make significant impacts beyond the school. A/Prof Tan Lay Kok had received the AY17/18 Special Recognition Award, which is an award based on students’ nomination of tutors through the Graduate Exit Questionnaires, on who had inspired them during medical school. Dr Lee Shi Hui was awarded the AY17/18 Junior Doctor Teaching Award, which commends junior doctors for excellent teaching of medical students.
