Grant Recipients

The following Quality Improvement (QI) projects have been implemented successfully by the grant recipients:

1. Improving Same Day Admissions (SDA) Utilisation in Singapore General Hospital
   • During the QI project period, comparing July to April 2018 over 2017, there had been an additional 1133 bed days saved over a 10 months period.
   • Bed savings were on a consistent exponential increase, as post QI project period has shown an increment till 90% in SDA utilisation rates, as at November 2018.
      
2. To eliminate the use of prophylactic antibiotics for patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy for uncomplicated gallstone disease, and to reduce the excessive use of antibiotics in the post-operative period for patients admitted for elective hepatectomy over a 12 months’ period.
   • During the QI project period, compliance rates for both initiatives has hit the range from 80% to 100%, with data period from January till December 2018 Clinical and Systems Innovation Support (CSI)
