The following Quality Improvement (QI) projects have been implemented successfully by the grant recipients:
- Improving Same Day Admissions (SDA) Utilisation in Singapore General Hospital
- During the QI project period, comparing July to April 2018 over 2017, there had been an additional 1133 bed days saved over a 10 months period.
- Bed savings were on a consistent exponential increase, as post QI project period has shown an increment till 90% in SDA utilisation rates, as at November 2018.
- To eliminate the use of prophylactic antibiotics for patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy for uncomplicated gallstone disease, and to reduce the excessive use of antibiotics in the post-operative period for patients admitted for elective hepatectomy over a 12 months’ period.
- During the QI project period, compliance rates for both initiatives has hit the range from 80% to 100%, with data period from January till December 2018 Clinical and Systems Innovation Support (CSI)
