Faculty Affairs and Professional Development Overview

The office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (FAPD) is dedicated to working with the clinical services, education and research offices of Surgery ACP to establish a framework for faculty development and promoting an environment where we actively recruit and retain a diverse faculty of talented educators, clinicians and researchers that share a vision on improving patient care through Academic Medicine.  Depending on the level of contribution and commitment of time in education and research efforts by each faculty, our aim is for all SingHealth doctors in the Surgery ACP to be accorded an academic appointment.

Aim

a. Deeper engagement of the surgical faculty (clinical services, education and research)

b. Ensuring a comprehensive and transparent appraisal system

c. Building a long term and fulfilling career for faculties under Surgery ACP

d. Identifying and retaining talents

Faculty Engagement & Career Fulfilment

We aim to facilitate and support individual faculty to define and achieve professional goals by creating a network that enables easy access to expertise and related resources/tools across institutions and joint institutes with Duke-NUS on Education and faculty development (Academic Medicine Education Institute – AM•EI) and Research (Academic Medicine Research Institute – AMRI).
