Surgery ACP Seed Grant

The Surgery ACP Seed Grant was introduced in 2013 by Surgery ACP with the aims to encourage exploratory and development research projects and to develop high quality clinician-scientists in Surgery ACP. This will be spurred through seed funding for budding surgeon scientists to generate preliminary data for application to cluster or national competitive research grants.

The seed grant programme is targeted especially for early-stage investigators, to provide the support they need to generate pilot data and explore novel research idea in their early and conceptual stage research.

Grant call is open yearly in September, with a 12-month grant award period from January to December of the year after the grant call. There are 2 categories for grant awarding, structured as follows:

                      a. Budding Researcher

                • This grant is intended for early stage investigators (Residents, Registrars & ACs)
                • Early stage investigators are defined as those who just started their research career and/or have yet to be awarded with more than S$50,000 research funding
                • The funding amount is capped at max of $10,000 for 1 year

                            b. Open Category

                • The funding amount is capped at max of $45,000 for 1 year
