Issues And Challenges With Assessment And Evaluation

This workshop will discuss the purpose of assessment, how it is linked to learning activities as well related issues and concerns. Participants will go through an exercise involving an education case-based scenario.

• Describe the link between curriculum, teaching, assessment and evaluation
• Describe the types and define the goals of assessment (formative and vesus summative)
• Compare and contrast the fundamental concepts of reliability and validity
• Develop an assessment tool
• Determine how to establish the validity of an instrument
