ASSESS! Workplace-based Assessment - Part 2

The effective and efficient delivery of healthcare requires not only knowledge and technical skills, but also analytical and communication skills, interprofessional care, evidence- and system-based care. These skills have been included in competency-based framework in healthcare profession education. Assessing these clinical competencies requires robust workplace-based assessment.

This workshop addresses:

Learning Objectives

• Describe how to effectively conduct the four common types of assessment, including: the competency checklist, global rating scale, direct observation of procedural skills, and Mini-CEX.
  
• Describe the methods to ensure inter-rater reliability.
