Overview:

Interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional care (IPC) are not new concepts in health professions training and healthcare delivery. However, they remain unclear and confusing to many healthcare professionals. There is potential for interprofessional scholarship and research (IPSR) to support discovery, integration, application, and teaching in the field. This symposium aims to generate discussion on how we can support IPSR—how it should be done, how it should be disseminated, and how it could impact patients, professional development, and the healthcare system.

By attending the symposium, the participants will be able to

1. To describe concrete steps in establishing interprofessional research teams;
2. To explain strategic steps in publishing articles for the Journal of Interprofessional Care;
3. To recognize parameters in improving research quality and impact.
