This 90‑minute session explores how Professional Activities (PAs) provide a more authentic and practice‑integrated approach to assessing pre‑registration pharmacists and healthcare professions. It begins by explaining the shift from traditional competency checklists to holistic, entrustable activities that better reflect real workplace responsibilities. The symposium then outlines national‑level preparation, including stakeholder engagement, defining core activities, faculty development, and establishing governance. Institutional implementation is also discussed, covering curriculum redesign, assessor training, workplace integration, and cultural transition to entrustment-based assessment. The session concludes with the use of action research to refine systems, enhance assessment validity, and strengthen both learner development and supervisor confidence.
