Dr. Bavani is a Senior Educational Developer at the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Teaching and Learning Academy (STLA), where she advances learning design, student development and coaching practice grounded in the science of learning, motivation, and self-regulated learning. 

With 17 years of experience in education, Bavani began her career with Singapore’s Ministry of Education before moving into higher education, where she has designed and led initiatives that strengthen students’ learning capabilities, metacognitive awareness, resilience, and academic success. At SIT, she spearheaded the “Learning to Learn Better” module and developed evidence-based learning programmes that help students become more effective, self-directed learners. 

Bavani also coordinates and facilitates the Certified Coaching Practitioner for Lifelong Learning and Competency Development programme and serves as a coach assessor for institutional training initiatives. Passionate about empowering both learners and educators, she actively supports the development of coaching capabilities and reflective practice in higher education. 

Her research focuses on science of learning, motivation, and self-regulated learning. She has contributed a chapter to the Routledge publication Coaching Students in Higher Education and holds a Doctorate in Education from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
