Gormit is a paediatric and neonatal-trained nurse who has more than 40 years of nursing experience and has worked in Singapore General Hospital, KK Women and Children Hospital, and is currently based at Sengkang General Hospital.

She has also attended the Virtual Interprofessional Teaching and Learning (VITAL) Workshop and the Educating Health Professionals in Interprofessionals Care (ehpic™) in collaboration with the University of Toronto, and is a facilitator for both programmes. She is the lead of Interprofessional Education (IPE) under the College of Clinical Nursing, SingHealth Academy. She has worked closely with the other members of the different colleges under SingHealth Academy to champion IPE. She is a member of the Centre for Interprofessional Health Education (CIPHE) at SingHealth and is the lead for the sub-committee on Practice for IPE. She has worked with and facilitated on interprofessional education workshops and activities on asthma, sexual education, and ward rounds in collaboration with the medical team while at KKH.  She continues to work with her colleagues to facilitate for workshops covering IPCP at SingHealth level.
