Dr Ignasius Jappar is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Cardiology at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), specialising in echocardiography and structural heart disease imaging. 

Dr Ignasius is passionate about medical education and learner development. As course co-director for the pre-clinical programme at Duke-NUS Medical School, he leads curriculum development initiatives focussed on multimodal teaching and robust assessment frameworks. He also teaches clinical medicine and cardiology to medical students, medical residents, and cardiology senior residents at NHCS. 

What draws Dr Ignasius to education is the opportunity to support both learners and educators in sustaining their growth and wellbeing. Through his work redesigning the pre-clinical curriculum, developing teaching assistant programmes, and leading overseas medical mission trips, he has witnessed firsthand how educator and learner wellbeing and performance are deeply interconnected. He believes that fostering environments where both can thrive is essential to achieving educational excellence that lasts.
