John Norcini, PhD, is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Upstate Medical University, a Fellow of Presence, a center at Stanford Medical School, and President Emeritus of the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER®). FAIMER operated an active research program in international health professions education and physician migration, supported global fellowship programs for faculty from health professions schools, and maintained databases of recognized medical schools worldwide.

Before joining FAIMER, Dr. Norcini held several positions at the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has authored more than 200 publications, lectured and taught in more than 45 countries, and serves on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals.

He is an honorary Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) and the Academy of Medical Educators, and has received numerous awards, including the Karolinska Prize for Research in Medical Education and the Hubbard Award.
