Assoc Prof May Lim Sok Mui

Dr May Lim is an Associate Professor and Assistant Provost (Applied Learning) at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). She is the first occupational therapist in Singapore to be awarded the Doctoral of Philosophy (PhD) qualification. She started the Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Occupational Therapy degree at SIT in 2016. May was also involved in national projects such as providing consultancy to early intervention centres. Currently, she serves at the SPD Board, volunteers as trainer at CaringSG, and partners Dementia Singapore on research initiatives. 

May led a centre that looks after learning and teaching development at the university level from 2017 – 2022. She won the university Teaching Excellence Award in 2016, 2018 and 2020 and Education 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award, National Day Honours: Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2022. 

Her research interests are transition, coaching, self-efficacy and resilience, approaches to learning, and developmental disabilities. She is a certified Solution-Focused Coach with CCPC Global, Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with International Coaching Federation (ICF) and Certified Positive Intelligence Coach. Dr. Lim is also the editor and contributing author of the Routledge publication Coaching Students in Higher Education.
