A trained paediatrician and an anatomist with 24 years of clinical and 10 years of teaching and research experience in the pre-clinical science field, Dr. Vedi has explored different student-centric approaches via a plethora of technological mediums for better learning outcomes for students.
He is a faculty member of the Medical Education Unit (MEU) at PIMSR, Parul University (PU). As a lecturer for several national school sessions, he is a member of the Indian Association of Adolescent Health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he volunteered as a COVID-19 warrior and simultaneously engaged students through digital platforms for inquiry-based learning in Anatomy courses. He has completed FAIMER fellowship course from Indonesia batch 2024 with topics aligned to train undergraduate students for the social accountability and its domains.
Dr. Vedi has been a resource faculty for the Value-added course “Reflective Learning” for undergraduate and postgraduate health professional students at Bhaikaka University. He is also coordinator for the “Gen-Lead module” for undergraduate medical students aimed at grooming budding professionals for leadership strategies and project management based on domains of social accountability.
He organised and served as a resource faculty for the first training workshop on "Empowering Educators: Fostering Change Through Playful Pedagogy and Moral Leadership." He has published 22 original research papers in esteemed journals like the Journal of Advances in Medical Education and Professionalism, The National Medical Journal of India, Medical Education, the National Journal of Clinical Anatomy, the Journal of Education and Health Promotion, etc. His intellectual contributions extend to Intellectual Property Rights (4) in areas such as self-directed learning readiness, and many more. He has been a reviewer in Advances in Medical Education and Practice (PubMed indexed) for 2021.
He has received the National Talent Search Award (Central Board of Secondary Examinations, New Delhi), a Certificate of Achievement in “Medicine and the Arts: Humanising Healthcare” from, the University of Cape Town, and a Basic course in Biomedical Research. ICMR-NIE.
