Dr Sum Satha obtained his Diploma in Internal Medicine from the University of Health Sciences Phnom Penh in 2006. He then pursued two years of Endocrinology training at Louis-Pasteur University Hospital from 2006 to 2008, where he deepened his expertise in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic diseases. After returning to Cambodia, he joined Calmette Hospital as a senior consultant and was appointed Chief of the Internal Medicine Unit in 2013, leading clinical care in endocrinology, diabetes, and complex metabolic disorders. In 2020, he was awarded Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, and in 2024, he became Senior Fellow of the International Diabetes Federation, recognising his contributions to advancing diabetes and metabolic health in Cambodia.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine, actively teaching and promoting modern approaches in endocrinology and metabolic medicine. He is the founder of the CarnetDia App and Virtual Diabetes Clinic App, Cambodia’s first digital platforms dedicated to diabetes and metabolic health management. He is also the Founding President of the Cambodia Association of Diabetes and Endocrine Technology, driving innovation and education in diabetes technology and metabolic care.
