Xiao Li is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), specialising in cardiothoracic surgical care. With over 25 years of nursing experience, she has extensive expertise in managing complex thoracic surgical patients across inpatient, high dependency, and community care settings. Her clinical practice focuses on advanced assessment, multidisciplinary coordination, and optimising postoperative recovery and patient safety.

A passionate clinical educator and mentor, Xiao Li contributes actively to healthcare education across training levels. She mentors Master of Nursing students, coaches undergraduate nursing students from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and supports the onboarding and competency development of newly appointed nurses. She also delivers structured, competency‑based education for multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, physiotherapists, and rotating medical officers. Her educational scholarship centres on translating evidence into sustainable practice through innovation and quality improvement. She currently leads the Cardiothoracic Training Championship Programme, advancing safe, standardised chest drain management and multidisciplinary surgical education.
