Lt Gen (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Jindal (Retd) is the Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Raipur, a role he assumed in February 2024 after an illustrious four-decade career in the Indian Army. He previously served in pivotal leadership roles, including Director & Commandant of the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi.

A graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune (MD in Community Medicine, Diploma in Industrial Health), he also holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. His exemplary service has been recognised with the nation’s highest peacetime military medical honours—the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and Yudh Seva Medal—acknowledging his leadership in combat casualty care, operational health services, and public health management during crises.

At AIIMS Raipur, Dr. Jindal is spearheading innovation and system strengthening. Under his leadership, the institute became the first government hospital in Central India to introduce a robotic surgery programme and secured NABL accreditation for advanced diagnostic facilities. He has prioritised compassionate, patient-centric care, expanded outreach to underserved regions, and fostered academic and research collaborations, including AI-enabled emergency care solutions. His vision combines excellence, equity, and innovation to shape resilient healthcare systems for India.
