Mr Sheikh Hasnain Arshad
Simulation Technical Analyst, Centre of Innovation in Medical Education, Aga Khan University
Sheikh Hasnain Arshad is a Simulation Technical Analyst at Aga Khan University’s Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME) in Karachi, where he integrates healthcare and technology to advance medical training. With over four years of experience in healthcare simulation and biomedical engineering, he manages high-fidelity simulators, develops low-cost task trainers, and supports multidisciplinary programs to improve learning outcomes.
He holds a Master’s in Mechatronics Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from NED University, along with a Certified Clinical Simulation Educator credential from AKU. As part of the core team, he helped launch Pakistan’s first Clinical Simulation Technologist Programme (CSTP), aimed at building capacity in simulation operations. His innovations—such as a low-cost infant radiant warmer, modular IV arm trainers, and a hemorrhoid ligation simulator—are designed to improve training accessibility in resource-limited settings.
His work has been recognized at international conferences such as SimGHOSTS and SimOps. His contributions span scenario development, faculty support, moulage, and technical operations. Currently pursuing CHSOS certification, Sheikh Hasnain is committed to becoming a Simulation Technical Leader, championing equitable, sustainable simulation practices in low- and middle-income countries to promote patient safety and educational excellence.
