Elsa Søyland is the CEO of SAFER – the Simulation Center in Stavanger, Norway. Since 2008, she has led SAFER’s transformation into a globally recognized institution for simulation-based education and research, now hosting over 20,000 participants annually.

With a clinical background as an intensive care nurse and a Master’s degree in Health Care Sciences, Søyland has championed simulation as a learning tool across healthcare and education since 2005. She played a pivotal role in SAFER’s accreditation by SESAM and chaired the SESAM Annual Meeting in 2012, which welcomed 800 participants from 41 countries.

Søyland is a long-standing faculty member of EuSim and has contributed to simulation training initiatives worldwide.
