Ms Tan Hwee Yuan

Hwee Yuan is a currently a Assistant Director in Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). She is a critical care-trained nurse who found passion in teaching and nurturing fellow nurses and healthcare professionals. She embarked on her education career in 2012 as a Nurse Educator and later specialised in Simulation-based Education. As a Simulationist, she advocates for learning experiences that ignite critical thinking and learning from realistic clinical case scenarios, all while protecting the learners’ psychological safety. In her career as an educator, she had also contributed vastly in clinical programme development mostly utilising hybrid or blended education approach, integrating education strategies such as didactics, e-learning, simulation, as well as clinical teaching.

Her passion to teach extends to grooming and mentoring new educators. She also takes charge of educator development, overseeing the training of preceptors, clinical instructors, and simulation faculty. She is also a committee member in the SIMS accreditation team, in charge of upholding simulation standards in SKH.
