Navigating Free/Low-Cost Resources for the Novice Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialist

For those new to the healthcare simulation field and/or sim program, it can be intimidating learning the ropes and uncovering resources in AV/IT/Sim. This is especially true if there is little to no handover/transition time between a predecessor’s departure and the onboarding of a replacement. This presentation will help participants add resources to their simulation toolbox which can be customized to meet the needs of both the needs of the simulation center/program and professional development. Participants will break out into groups to share problems they’ve faced and tactics used to troubleshoot. Lessons learned in this session can help overcome challenges whether you’re on a team or you are THE “team of 1.”

Learning Objectives :

1. Participants will learn how to navigate through simulation challenges relating to limited resources (time, finance, space, etc.)
2. Participants will learn several practices that help promote sustainability of equipment
3. Participants will walk away with a list of no/low-cost resources that can be used to troubleshoot, address technology gaps, and improve workflows.
