An aging population brings a range of challenges, one of the most significant being the rise in mobility issues among older adults. As people age, physical disabilities become increasingly common, often affecting daily functioning, limiting mobility, and raising the risk of falls. Addressing these disabilities can greatly enhance quality of life by promoting independence. Rehabilitation is crucial for restoring function and prolonging self-sufficiency. However, its effectiveness is often limited by poor availability and accessibility. While Artificial Intelligence (AI) has shown promise across various areas of healthcare, its potential role in enhancing rehabilitation outcomes remains uncertain.
This workshop explores the use of AI in physical rehabilitation for older adults, aiming to support greater independence and improved quality of life. Participants will gain insights into emerging AI trends in rehabilitation and engage in hands-on activities, including case studies and live demonstrations, to understand AI's role in rehabilitative care.
