Assoc Prof Iris Rawtaer is a geriatric psychiatrist and clinician scientist at Sengkang General Hospital, where she holds the appointments of Head of Department of Psychiatry and Director of Research. Her areas of focus are on dementia, depression and cognitive disorders among the elderly. She spearheads several innovative programmes and research projects to support the elderly to age well such as Seniors Health: Inspire, Navigate Empower (SHINE) and Building Resilience in Geriatric Health Today (BRIGHT) which are designed to enhance mental health literacy and deliver brief interventions to seniors at-risk in the community. One of her notable research projects involves the use of smart home sensors and artificial intelligence to detect early signs of cognitive impairment and frailty.
