Dr. Sajlia Jalil is the Head of Speech Therapy at Woodlands Health. She is also a teaching faculty at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Her clinical and research areas of interest are in acquired communication disorders and progressive neurological diseases. She holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield, where her research focused on the conversational interactions of Malay-English bilingual individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Her thesis, titled "Interactional problems, adaptation and code-switching in interactions involving Malay-English bilingual speakers with Traumatic Brain Injury: A conversation analysis study," provides valuable insights into the communication challenges faced by this population. At NUS, she is the clinical education coordinator in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Programme. She leads the teaching of Continuous Education programmes such as the "Effective Clinical Supervision Skills" series, designed to enhance the supervisory competencies of allied healthcare professionals.
