Welcoming a New Academic Chair for SingHealth Duke-NUS Paediatrics Academic Clinical Programme (PAEDS ACP)

We would like to welcome Clinical Associate Professor Thoon Koh Cheng as the newly appointed Academic Chair, SingHealth Duke-NUS Paediatrics Academic Clinical Programme and Chairman, Division of Medicine, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, effective from 1 May 2023.

Clinical Associate Professor Thoon trained in Paediatric Infectious Diseases in 2007, and was Head of Infectious Disease Service at KKH from June 2010 to May 2022. He is currently the Chairman of the Hospital Infection Control Committee, KKH, and chairs the Ministry of Health’s National Verification Committee for Measles Elimination. Moving forward, he hopes to continue to strengthen and develop new pillars of strength and excellence, and pursue our integration in the national population health transformation as well as cultivating future generations of medical practitioners who continually innovate and reimagine their roles in healthcare.

Clinical Associate Professor Chan Yoke Hwee is recognised for her exceptional leadership and dedication to advancing Academic Medicine (AM) through key strategic initiatives and collaborative partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. Having served as Academic Chair, SingHealth Duke-NUS Paediatrics Academic Clinical Programme from 1 May 2017 to 30 April 2023, Clinical Associate Professor Chan is a well-respected clinician leader whose strong leadership presence and strategic insights have been significant in furthering PAEDS ACP’s mission in research, clinical, education and innovation.

She will continue to contribute to AM as Associate Dean, Office of Academic Medicine (KKH Campus) which is concurrent to her appointment as Chairman Medical Board (CMB), KKH.
