Denosumab is a medicine given to prevent excessive bone loss. It is used to increase bone mass for the prevention or treatment of osteoporosis, as well as to reduce cancer-related bone pain.
Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:
It is a subcutaneous injection which is given at the upper arm, upper thigh or abdomen. You may need to receive one injection every 4 weeks or 6 months depending on your requirements.
If you miss a dose of Denosumab, receive it as soon as possible by rescheduling an administration date with your clinic.
As Denosumab exists under two different brand names i.e. Xgeva®, Prolia®, do note the brand that you are currently taking. You should not switch between the two brands unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.
