Welcoming a New Academic Chair for SingHealth Duke-NUS Oral Health Academic Clinical Programme (ORH ACP)

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Clinical Associate Professor Goh Bee Tin as the newly appointed Academic Chair, SingHealth Duke-NUS Oral Health Academic Clinical Programme (ORH ACP) and Chief Executive Officer, National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS), effective from 1 August 2023.

Clinical Associate Professor Goh is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and the founding Director of National Dental Research Institute Singapore (NDRIS). She has contributed extensively to the fields of research, professional development and public health administration. Under her leadership as Research Director from 2012 to 2021, NDCS’ research output had increased significantly, and she developed a longitudinal research talent and career development programme for young clinician researchers in NDCS. She had also made significant contributions to public healthcare that includes the development of the NDCS-KTPH collaboration framework, and oversaw the development of national dental care pathways and clinical quality indicators. In her new role as Academic Chair, Clinical Associate Professor Goh will build on the strong foundations laid by Clinical Associate Professor Poon Choy Yoke and lead ORH ACP and NDCS in continuing to pursue clinical, education, and research excellence.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Clinical Associate Professor Poon Choy Yoke for her visionary guidance and significant contributions as Academic Chair, ORH ACP during her nine-year tenure. Clinical Associate Professor Poon has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of oral healthcare and paved the way for transformative advancements in dental education, research and patient care. Her dedication to cultivating a culture of both clinical and academic excellence in NDCS and the ORH ACP will continue to inspire generations of leaders and dental professionals to come.
 
With effect from 1 August 2023, Clinical Associate Professor Poon will be appointed to the SingHealth Board of Advisors and conferred the title of Senior Advisor, SingHealth.
