Find out more about the Office of Duke-NUS Affairs and ACP Study Trip to Duke Durham
In our AMC, we recognise that our interprofessional professionals i.e. Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) play an integral role in the advancement of Academic Medicine (AM) through interprofessional collaboration in research, education, innovation and clinical practice. Our focus has always been to provide Nurses and AHPs with the academic recognition they deserve if they have already been contributing actively to AM in their field of work.
On 14 September 2022, over 130 of our Nurses and AHP colleagues in the AMC participated in a webinar session titled "Academic Recognition & Appointments" organised by the Joint Office of Academic Medicine – Academic Programmes Management Department (JOAM-APMD) in collaboration with SingHealth Group Nursing and Group Allied Health. During the webinar, Duke-NUS Appointments & Development Department (ADD) which facilitates academic appointments shared more on the criteria for academic appointments and recognition in Duke-NUS. Clinical Associate Professor Chan Yoke Hwee, immediate past Academic Chair, Paediatrics Academic Clinical Programme (PAEDS ACP) also shared her experience and the importance of interprofessional collaborative practice in ACPs. There were many queries from our Nurses and AHP colleagues during the webinar and we have since compiled a set of Frequently-Asked-Questions (FAQs) where you can get started by affiliating yourself and contributing to an ACP.
