Objective

Against the backdrop of new variants of infectious disease threatening public health worldwide, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) at Tan Tock Sing Hospital (TTSH) aims to improve Singapore's response to outbreaks.

In preparation for the research response to the Wuhan novel coronavirus (nCoV-2019) cases in Singapore, the NCID's Pandemic Preparedness Research Coordinating Office (PPRCO) is launching a Short-Term Pilot Research Grant call for novel approaches for diagnostics and surveillance of the Wuhan novel coronavirus (nCoV-2019) in Singapore, under funding provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH). This call is supported by MOH's Pandemic Preparedness Research Committee (PPRC) and is in line with the Pandemic Preparedness Research Strategy (PPRS) which aims to map, build and support the necessary capabilities and platforms that can be mobilised for outbreak research in preparation for a pandemic.
